CHURCHILL, HENRY
Pte. William Marsh, 1st Wilts Regt. — Not possible to identify unambiguously. According to the 1911 Census, a William Marsh and his brother Bertie were living at Studland with their uncle and aunt, John and Maria Guy; William Marsh was then a 23-year old jobbing gardener; born at Kingston, Dorset. The 1911 Census also records a Charles and Sarah Marsh living at Orchard Hill, Kingston with a grown-up daughter and son; given the Kingston link, it is possible that these were William and Bertie’s parents. The CWGC database contains two Wiltshire Regiment soldiers with the name William Marsh; neither has an obvious link with Dorset.
