Increase in approved building plans during the last quarter of 2011

The City of Cape Town has reported an increase in the number of building plans passed during the last quarter of 2011. There was a 25% increase in the number of plans passed covering residential property and a 31% increase in plans covering non-residential properties. MyCiTi taking steps to fix feeder route delays in Table View area

Ten new 12m MyCiTi buses will be deployed in Cape Town from late March to help alleviate the severe congestion being experienced by MyCiTi users. A focus area will be the suburbs of Table View and Parklands, and traffic along Gie Road and Raats Drive. The City is aware of extensive delays being experienced in Table View, Parklands and surrounding areas particularly during peak traffic times. Cape Town public transport role-players set up co-ordinating group to help commuters

At a meeting requested by MEC Robin Carlisle, Provincial MEC for Transport, on Friday 27 January 2012 public transport role-players agreed to put in place mechanisms to try and ensure that travel on public transport is improved. City offers free substance abuse rehabilitation programmes at its outpatient centres

City to host Castle Cape Town Tens’ Rugby Tournament

The City of Cape Town’s Sport and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Cape Town Tens, will host the Castle Cape Town Tens’ Rugby Tournament for the fourth consecutive year this February.
