Stand Up Paddler Rescues Two Hout Bay Children

NSRI Hout Bay volunteers, Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services and the SA Police Force responded, at 12h28 on Saturday 7 January, to Hout Bay Main Beach following reports of two children in difficulties in the water. Suspected Drowning was a Seizure

At 16h07 on Friday 6 January 2012, NSRI Melkbosstrand volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of a suspected drowning in progress at Melkbosstrand Beach. It appears that a 19 year old male, from Atlantis, is reported to have suffered a seizure (epileptic seizure) while swimming. NSRI Gordon's Bay launched sea rescue craft to respond to Koel Bay following reports of multiple persons in distress in the water off Cool Bay. Metro EMS, a Metro EMS rescue squad and the Metro EMS Skymed helicopter responded. 3 females and a male were rescued by lifeguards. On 26 December 2011, CMR (Cape Medical Response) paramedics responded to Boulders, near Simonstown, following reports of a man fallen from rocks. In a barely accessible area amongst steep rocks at Boulders Beach the man, 45 year old Allan Evans, from Merthyr Vale, Wales, was treated for a suspected fractured femur.
