On Friday afternoon at 16h11 NSRI Simonstown launched NSRI rescue craft Spirit of Safmarine III following a request for assistance from the fishing trawler Alma Lucie, with 10 crew on-board, experiencing engine failure, off-shore of Cape Point and requiring a tow to Port. Man rescued following fall at BOS 400 crane barge wreck
At Mauri Bay, 21st March, 2009 at 18h03 the NSRI and Metro Rescue were activated following reports of a man fallen approximately 10 metres on the BOS (Bouyge Offshore Services) 400 crane barge wreck at Mauri Bay, between Llandudno and Hout Bay. In Cape Town on the 24th of January, 2009 at 09h07 NSRI Table Bay and the Metro Ambulance and Rescue Services were activated by the Transnet Ports Authority to casualty evacuate 73 year old Hugo Kloser, from Switzerland, suffering breathing difficulties aboard the Container ship Dal Kalahari at anchor in Table Bay.
