Western Cape Tourism Demonstrates Significant Growth

Cape Town - Despite the ongoing worldwide economic dip resulting in shrinking tourism figures, South Africa's Western Cape tourism industry showed significant growth in 2011. South Africa urged to support Table Mountain campaign

Western Cape Tourism MEC Alan Winde has urged South Africans to vote for Table Mountain in the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign. Winde has been named as an ambassador for the campaign. Cape Town ash cloud closely monitored

Tourism stakeholders in the Western Cape visited the Cape Town International Airport on Sunday to assess the impact of an ash cloud over Cape Town airspace. Members of the tourism and travel industry, led by MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Alan Winde, spoke to affected passengers, as flights in and out of Cape Town International, Port Elizabeth and East London airports were cancelled. Miami-Dade delegation visits Cape Town

City of Cape Town officials met with a delegation from Miami-Dade county in Florida, USA in October 2009 to discuss establishing closer ties between the two cities.
