She hopes to cross the finish line that day having raised R50 000 exclusively for Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust (RCCTT).
“I believe that crime against women and girls is not only a crime against humanity, but also the primary cause of disempowerment of women and the reason South Africa is being held back from reaching its full potential,” says Philippa.
RCCTT supports the recovery of rape survivors by seeking legal justice and creating change in communities. The Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) supports communities by helping victims of rape, sexual abuse and sexual violence. The funds are needed to assist them in providing services such as crisis hotlines, community outreach and education, and victim advocacy especially regarding flaws in the criminal justice system.
