The City of Cape Town thanks residents for the exceptional turnout at A Day of 1 000 Opportunities at Athlone Stadium today, Thursday, 16 April 2026. Due to an unprecedented number of attendees at the event, no further entrants will be allowed into the stadium, but residents can still apply online.
A crowd of about 25 000 people has turned out at Athlone Stadium this morning to be screened for job opportunities within the contact centre industry.
The interest in the event is promising, and the City, along with its partners, will be assisting the current attendees at the venue, but due to capacity constraints, no more jobseekers can be admitted into the stadium.
