54 Year Old Arrested for Possession of Drugs and Bribery

WESTERN CAPE – Police members attached to Operation Lockdown III, arrested a Nigerian national on Tuesday, 17 August 2026, for the possession of drugs and bribery in Bellville.

The members followed up on information about drugs at a premises in Parksig, Bellville. The members searched the premises and found 148,3 gram crystal meth, 31 small packets containing crystal meth, 140 mandrax tablets, a plastic packet containing mandrax powder and uncut crystal meth. While the members executed the arrested, the suspect offered them R5 000-00 in cash for his release. The suspect also faces a charge in term of the Immigration Act.

The 54-year-old suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.
