Club Newlands – the official supporters club of the DHL Stormers and DHL WP – will be ushered in the 2017 rugby season with a hive of pre-season activities to lift the spirits of the whole family!
They started the year off with a bang in the form of the annual Club Newlands DHL Stormers Sleepover on Friday 3rd February 2017 at DHL Newlands Rugby Stadium.
Parents along with their kids were given the opportunity to pitch a tent on the sacred grounds of DHL Newlands Rugby Stadium a once in a lifetime experience which rugby fans young and old will remember for years to come.
Some of the DHL Stormers team joined the children and assisted in a short coaching clinic, followed by a signing and photo session with the boys. Parent and child couples were also privy to a talk around nutrition and fitness, a few exciting spot prizes on the day and a grand prize for the pair that shows the most physicality and enthusiasm during activities. The adults also had an opportunity to don DHL plane and delivery van suits and participate in the DHL run, much to the delight of their sprogs cheering them on from the side lines. This was then crowned with a braai and a hub of activities throughout the evening for the kids to enjoy before lights out.
