A Taste of Franschhoek: ‘EAT SLEEP DRINK’ Returns for Winter 2025

20 June 2025 by Con Tributor

Franschhoek Wine Valley’s celebrated ‘EAT SLEEP DRINK’ returns this winter, reaffirming the region’s status as South Africa’s culinary capital. Building on the success of last year’s edition, the 2025 campaign invites South African residents to savour in the village’s renowned gastronomy and warm hospitality — all while enjoying outstanding value.

Running from 21 July to 11 August 2025, diners can enjoy a R300 discount per person on every dinner reservation at participating Franschhoek restaurants — with the freedom to book at multiple venues and enjoy the same generous saving each time.

Created to inspire local travel during the quieter season, it presents the perfect opportunity to experience world-class dining in an intimate, off-peak setting. With its crisp winter air, cosy fireside charm and flavourful cuisine, the valley reveals a different side of its personality —and an ideal opportunity to enjoy a Winelands escape that showcases the distinctive lifestyle and flavours that define Franschhoek.

Participating Restaurants include:

  • Reuben’s Restaurant & Bar
  • The French Connection Bistro
  • Le Bon Vivant
  • Frank’s Corner Bar & Grill
  • La Petite Colombe / Protégé / Epice
  • ?ku / Yama Asian Eatery / Eleven
  • Orangerie at Le Lude
  • Chefs Warehouse MAISON
  • L’Ami Family Brasserie at La Motte
  • Arkeste

“This seasonal drive helps shine a spotlight on Franschhoek’s exceptional food and wine, warm hospitality, breathtaking scenery and rich culture,” says Ruth McCourt, CEO of Franschhoek Wine Valley. “Building on the strong momentum from last year, we’re proud to offer guests another opportunity to experience the best of our valley at incredible value. Whether for a midweek escape or a gourmet weekend getaway, EAT SLEEP DRINK offers the ultimate excuse to rediscover the magic of Franschhoek this winter.”

Now a highlight on the annual calendar, the winter promotion not only celebrates Franschhoek’s food and wine excellence, but also provides vital support to local restaurants and tourism businesses during the quieter season.

To extend the indulgence, visitors can take advantage of exclusive winter rates at a curated selection of premier accommodation partners. Simply quote “EAT SLEEP DRINK” when booking directly with any of the participating hotels and guest houses below:
