“Let Nature Give You A Run For Your Money”

Stillwater Sports is proud to announce THIRSTI as the Title Sponsor of South Africa’s premier three-day stage trail run, the THIRSTI AFRICANX Trailrun.

Taking place at the Houw Hoek Hotel, in the Western Cape, over the weekend of 26 – 28 March 2021, trail runners can look forward to a fresh new look and an extraordinary experience.

“We are extremely proud to welcome THIRSTI as the Title Sponsor of the AFRICANX Trailrun,” says Michael Meyer, founder of the event and Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “Proudly South African, THIRSTI water is inspired by people who follow their passion and live life to the fullest. The AFRICANX runner has no shortage of passion or drive, making this the perfect partnership. With THIRSTI in our corner, we will soon be announcing a number of exciting enhancements to the AFRICANX experience. The THIRSTI product range is phenomenal, and we are now able to offer these products to discerning trail runners of one of South Africa’s most iconic events. The Stillwater Sports team can’t wait to welcome trail runners to the start line of the 2021 THIRSTI AFRICANX Trailrun.”

Having already partnered with the likes of The Sharks, Comrades Marathon as well as the ABSA Cape Epic, Rob Hoatson, Managing Director of THIRSTI Water is delighted to add another powerhouse partnership to the THIRSTI stable;

“AFRICANX is a fantastic challenge! Running in excess of 70km over three days will require plenty of hydration and rehydration for these extreme individuals. We’ll keep the athlete’s well fuelled with the best water that nature has to offer – sourced deep from within the Klein Drakensberg mountains, with a unique taste, ultimate hydration and pH of 8.”

Who is THIRSTI?

THIRSTI is more than just Natural Spring Water; THIRSTI is a way of life. THIRSTI attracts a young, vibrant market with a thirst for life and authentic experiences.

THIRSTI started production at the end of 2015 with their iconic Still and Sparkling ranges. 2019 saw the release of the ultimate sports drink, ISOFIT+, and a bold THIRSTI Flavours range was added in 2020.

With its unique taste, attractive design, and a pH level of 8, THIRSTI has made massive strides in its relatively short time in the market with listings in all major retailers throughout South Africa.

THIRSTI has a strong focus on event sponsorships across multiple sporting codes and, in 2019, they became the hydration partner to both the Comrades Marathon as well as The Sharks rugby team. Adding to this, was the 2021 announcement of the ASBA Cape Epic official water partnership.
