Ajax Cape Town plays Amazulu at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday evening in what could be the most defining game of their season. Kick-off is at 19h30.
Recent defeats against Sundowns and Free State Stars in the league as well as Amazulu in the Nedbank Cup has put the Ajax technical team in a reflective mood as they plan for the league game against Amazulu.
A win can put Ajax Cape Town within touching distance of the chasing pack and go a long way in keeping their title hopes alive should other results go their way.
However, Maarten Stekelenburg is confident that his players will bounce back and produce the type of winning football that is the hallmark of their game at the Cape Town Stadium.
Stekelenburg said, “We know what to expect from Amazulu and we did very well against them in Durban until the rain stopped play. In our second game the red card forced a change in plan and that did not allow the team to play to their full potential.
I have a full squad available except for Wolff, and we will use the space of the sizable Cape Town Stadium pitch to our advantage.
Our preparations have proceeded very well and I know that the players need no motivation to win this game. ”
