Lt. Gen. Dyantyi brings valuable operational experience, having served in some of South Africa’s most challenging policing environments, including Nyanga and the West Coast. We are encouraged by his commitment to prioritising gang violence and trust that his experience will translate into decisive action against the criminal networks that continue to terrorise communities across the Western Cape.
For far too long, innocent residents have been caught in the crossfire of gang violence while businesses and families have increasingly fallen victim to extortion. Communities are crying out for a police service that is visible, proactive and intelligence-driven, and one that relentlessly pursues those who prey on law-abiding South Africans. We are hopeful that Lt. Gen. Dyantyi’s appointment marks the beginning of a renewed and collaborative approach to policing in the province.
