During the past week since 12:00 Sunday(2015-02-08) until 12:00 Sunday (2015-02-15) Wynberg cluster arrested 48 suspects for charges relating to various crimes including possession of drugs, dangerous weapons, counterfeit goods and possession of abalone. Some of the successes are reflected below:
Arrest Pollsmoor Prison: On Monday (2015-02-09) Kirstenhof police was called to Pollsmoor prison for a day visitor that had been caught trying to smuggle drugs and cellphones into prison for an inmate. The suspect a 40 year old resident of Westlake was caught with 58 mandrax tablets, an unknown amount of dagga and seven cellphones with chargers. The suspect was arrested and charged for been in possession of illegal substances and possession of presumed stolen cellphones and appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 2015-02-10
Huge abalone arrest: Grassy Park members were busy conducting visible patrols when they noticed a suspicious vehicle at about 08:30 in Anchor road Grassy Park. The officers instructed the driver of the vehicle to pull over. As the officers approached the vehicle the driver sped off. The officers gave chase and cornered the vehicle on the corners of Lake road and Fishersmanwalk. The occupants of the vehicle then fled from the scene and the officers gave pursuit on foot. The suspects were then found hiding in a house. They were then apprehended and taking to the abandoned vehicle were the officers discovered 17 bags containing 644 units of abalone. The suspects aged 40 and 30 resides in Heideveld and Elim respectively and were arrested and charged for been in possession of abalone and appeared in the Wynberg magistrate court on Thursday (2015-02-12).
Drug plantation: On Wednesday, 11 February 2015 at 12:00 Diep River police in a combined operation with the Wynberg Cluster team followed up on information at a house in Ou Wingerdpad, Constantia.
The information concerned was that there was a plantation of cannabis (dagga) at the property. When the team arrived and surrounded the house they entered the property and discovered an organised cannabis plantation in a separate section of the garden. Officers counted a hundred and nine (109) trees above the height of 50cm to 1.8m. There were 64 smaller plants and a number of seedlings. Two white males aged 21 and 24 were arrested on site. The owner of the house is aware of the situation and is still at large. Forensic department was on the scene and narcotics specialists. All the plants and trees were removed by SAPS and handed in as evidence. A case of drug trafficking and cultivation were opened at the Diep River police station. The suspects were charged and processed and appeared in court on Friday, 13 February 2015.The street value of the cannabis (dagga) is still to be determined.

Paarl Cluster arrested 88 suspects for various crimes
Due to SAPS continues focussed on drugs and gansterism the Paarl Cluster in relation with other role-players have had the following successes.
During the past week since 12:00 Sunday (2015-02-08) until 12:00 Sunday (2015-02-15) Paarl Cluster arrested 88 suspects for charges relating to various crimes.
Some of these successes are reflected below:
On Saturday afternoon (2015-02-10) at about 14:00 Malmesbury police received information of drugs are being sold at a house in Holomisa Street, Ilingelethu Malmesbury. Upon the members arrival they searched the premises and they discover 25 straws of tik, 30 stoppe dagga, four parcels of dagga. Three suspects were arrested. The suspects will appear on Monday (2015-02-16) in the Malmesbury Magistrate Court on the related charges. The estimated street value of the drugs are R10 000.
Late Thursday evening (2015-02-13) at about 19:00 members arrested three suspects aged 28,27 and 32 year old males after being tipped off by the community of them men who wants to robbed people. The Malmesbury crime prevention members have been deployed near the graveyard on the N7 and arrested the three suspects who had in their possession three(3) knives and a panga. The three suspects will appear on Monday (2015-02-16) in the Malmesbury Magistrate court on charges of Possession of dangerous weapons.
