WESTERN CAPE – Members of Public Order Policing followed up on information about drugs in Tyhilani Street, Asanda village, Lwandle, early on Sunday morning, 06 September 2026, and searched a premises where they found 74 mandrax tablets, two small packets containing crystal meth and 15 rounds of ammunition. They arrested a 25-year-old male for the possession of drugs and the illegal possession of ammunition.
He will appear in the Strand Magistrates’ court once he has been charged.
In an unrelated matter, members of the Anti-Gang Unit deployed in Delft area followed up on information about a firearm at a premises in Bagzane Street, N2 Gateway, Deft, on Sunday morning. During the search of the premises, the members found a 9mm pistol without a serial number with seven rounds of ammunition hidden in a laundry basket in the house. A 23-year-old male was arrested for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
The suspect is due to make his court appearance in the Bellville Magistrates’ court once he has been charged.
