Beetle Lovers Picnic

23 August 2012 by CapeTownNewsReader

The ACVW Fever is high and everybody in the Cape Town ACVW scene is counting down the days to BUGJAM 2012!!!

This is the first event of its kind – A collaborative effort by Air Cooled Culture and other ACVW groups / clubs, where we invite all clubs and groups to an Open Air Cooled Volkswagen Day, your chance to show off your car to the whole of the Cape ACVW crowd – and their chance to admire it!

31 August 2012 marks the 61st anniversary of the first Volkswagen produced in South Africa, obviously Air Cooled!!! So we have chosen the closest weekend to this date ( Sunday 2 September 2012 ) to celebrate this with everybody – and also to celebrate the start of the Spring Season!!!

Our Aim is to Exceed 100 ACVW’s cars so we need each and everyone to crank that old “skedonk” up and bring those cars out after the winter hibernation!  Bring friends, family, camping chairs, firewood or charcoal, your braai drommetjie, grill, meat and rolls and come and enjoy a lekker local event with us!

See you guys from 09:00 @ Starlite Diner to depart at 09:30 OR be at the second Meeting point @ Century City Virgin Active Parking Lot from 09:30 for a mass departure of everybody from 10:00 to the Venue for the day @ Palmyra Road. OR if you can only make it later meet us at the Venue – VREDENHOF SPORTS FIELDS OPPOSITE GROOTE SCHUUR HIGH SCHOOL OFF PALMYRA RD.
