Beyond the Dress in Cape Town

7 June 2012 by Alan

Beyond the Dress recently headed to Cape Town to host an exclusive event on the 18th May 2012. The theme around the work shop was “Around the World – Food and Wine pairing” and allowed guests the experience of savouring the flavour of various different countries paired with sumptuous wines.

The event, hosted at the Queen Victoria Hotel, attracted 35 ladies for a 3 course meal with offerings from Spain, Italy, France and Argentina. The workshop was jointly hosted with Bovlei Cellars Madhatters range and Showcook, with sponsor involvement from Russell Hobbs.

“As part of the modern woman’s toolkit, this event focused on the social element providing guests with the confidence to talk all things wine. It was also an opportunity for networking while enjoying beautiful food and wine to match.” Notes organiser Lori Milner.

Beyond The Dress is the brainchild of Lori Milner, who herself realised when she tied the knot that there was a gap that needed to be filled when it came to acknowledging, recognising and rewarding the ever-changing role, lifestyle and challenge of the modern women.

Through various Workshops, Beyond The Dress has empowered hundreds of women with valuable insight on how to retain their passion in life – whether they’re stay-at-home moms, or high-powered executives. Each Workshop features a number of industry experts presenting on a variety of different topics, from improving one’s communication skills, the tricky art of balancing your family and work life and financial planning, to pregnancy, beauty and image management, health and wellness, and many more.
