Cape Point and Penguins Day Tour: What You Will See

11 October 2026 by CapeTownNewsReader

Cape Town — Giraffe Horizons has published “Cape Point and Penguins Day Tour: What You Will See” as part of a ten-article visitor planning series on its website.

Plan the coastal route, Cape Point and Boulders viewing, with road availability and wildlife etiquette in mind. The resource is intended to help visitors compare arrangements and check what their selected booking includes.

The article covers these practical topics:

The coastal route The drive south hugs the coastline, passing Camps Bay, Hout Bay and, if it is open, Chapman’s Peak Drive, a road carved into the cliffs with sweeping ocean views. Many tours add a stop in Hout Bay, where you can take a short boat trip to see the seal colony.

Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is home to wild coastline, fynbos and animals such as baboons, bontebok and ostriches. At Cape Point you can walk or ride the funicular up to the old lighthouse, with cliffs falling away into the sea. The Cape of Good Hope sign is the classic photo stop.

Boulders Beach penguins Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is home to a colony of African penguins. Boardwalks let you watch them waddle, swim and nest within a few metres, but you should never touch them. They can bite, and the colony is protected.

Current prices, inclusions and availability must be checked against the selected product and travel date. The guide is now available online.
