10-Minute Star Trail
It’s the annual Geminids meteor shower this weekend – the most spectacular shower of the year – peaking on Friday and Saturday evening. I’m heading off to the dark skies of the Cederberg to observe the event all weekend, last night I practised my astrophotography skills in preparation.
This 10-minute exposure shows star trails (the lines that all head in the same direction from right to left) as well as two meteors crossing the trails diagonally.
