Andersonville National Historic Site

In addition to the historic points of interest at Andersonville Prison is a section that contains a variety of memorial monuments. This area can be reached by a short walk from the Visitor Center and is usually part of a trip to the reconstructed stockade wall. However, there is a parking lot near the memorials for those who want no exercise at all.
State monuments include those for Wisconsin, Michigan, Massachusetts, Ohio, Rhode Island, and a Tennessee memorial to the state’s Union soldiers who died at Andersonville. You will also find a memorial to Clara Barton, Elizabeth Turner, and the Women’s Relief Corps.
