The wreck of the Clan Suart, a 3500 ton turret steamer, which dragged her moorings in a strong south easter, to run aground on the sandy beach just north of Simon’s Town in 1914, has been a feature of this area for my entire life (duh! 🙂 The triple expansion steam engine still shows it’s cylinder tops, despite over 90 years in some of the wildest waters in the world!

When I passed here on this day, the water and waves were so smooth and perfect, I had to shoot a few… This was one of the first shots, hopelessly overexposed for the gentle tones in the sea surface, but with this bold colour and shape dominating.

The more I looked at it, the more I liked it, so a little cleanup of the faint details on the water, some contrast and voila! Hope you like it…:))
