Lion's Head

Fighting scenes from the East pediment of the Aphaia temple built in the Greek island of Aegina, depicting the first Trojan war.
A warrior is injured and with the right hand he waves his sword helplessly in air. His attendant hurries to him. In is left hand he probably held a lance. However the attendant’s help comes too later, and the injured warrior will receive the death thrust from his opponent’s lance. The bowman behind the attendant is Heracles. He can be clearly identified on account of his helmet I the form of a lion’s head.
