SAND-CASTLES ON THE SEA in OKINAWA

Looking out from the sandy north shore of Yagaji Island, I yearn to paddle a small canoe out to these layered and weathered rocks. These scattered sculptures of nature are 500 yards from my camera, but forced perspective lines them up neatly in a row.
Filled with tunnels, holes, arches, and passageways, their shapes and arrangement change with every new vantage point along the shore.

In the distance across the open bay are the mountains above the Shioya Inland Sea.
