Cape Town, South Africa…by night…is a wonderful adventure, but only in the company of a knowledgeable friend. Otherwise, it can be a dangerous place, where one can be gunned down for a cellphone. Today’s newspaper tells of a student who died for just that reason — near his college.
This is the World Cup 2010 Soccer Stadium. Completely covered by fabric, it makes for a beautiful night shot. Image is handheld in the wind. Needed a little digital help to calm the noise. But overall, I think it’s quite pretty.

PS I am glum and heading into a major funk at the idea of leaving Africa. A piece of my soul has been yanked away by this wonderful country.
But it’s okay — Africa and Cape Town may have it in payment for the wonderful memories and adventures they have given to me…even the prawn at red tide. (grimace)
