San Esteban de Gormaz, Soria, Castilla y León, España.
San Esteban de Gormaz es una localidad y también un municipio español de la provincia de Soria que cuenta con 3054 habitantes teniendo en cuenta todas sus pedanías, partido judicial de El Burgo de Osma, comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. El pueblo está declarado Conjunto Histórico-Artístico.
Integrado en la comarca de Tierras del Burgo, se sitúa a 69 kilómetros de la capital provincial. El término municipal está atravesado por las carreteras nacionales N-110 y N-122, que permiten la conexión con Segovia y Valladolid, respectivamente. La localidad está situada en la Ruta de la Lana y en el Camino del Cid, ruta del destierro de El Cid, en la orilla del río Duero.
Su extenso término municipal está formado por el núcleo de San Esteban y otros dieciocho pueblos: Aldea de San Esteban, Atauta, Inés, Matanza de Soria, Morcuera, Olmillos, Pedraja de San Esteban, Peñalba de San Esteban, Piquera de San Esteban, Quintanas Rubias de Abajo, Quintanas Rubias de Arriba, Quintanilla de Tres Barrios, Rejas de San Esteban, Soto de San Esteban, Torraño, Torremocha de Ayllón, Velilla de San Esteban y Villálvaro.
El relieve del territorio está muy influenciado por la presencia del río Duero, que discurre procedente de Gormaz hacia Langa de Duero, recibiendo el aporte de pequeños ríos y arroyos. La altitud va aumentando a mayor lejanía del río, adquiriéndose el típico paisaje de la llanura castellana. La altitud oscila entre los 1134 metros al sur del municipio y los 850 metros a orillas del Duero. El pueblo se alza a 879 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
San Esteban de Gormaz is a town and also a Spanish municipality in the province of Soria that has 3054 inhabitants taking into account all its districts, judicial district of El Burgo de Osma, autonomous community of Castilla y León. The town has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
Integrated in the region of Tierras del Burgo, it is located 69 kilometers from the provincial capital. The municipal term is crossed by the national highways N-110 and N-122, which allow the connection with Segovia and Valladolid, respectively. The town is located on the Ruta de la Lana and on the Camino del Cid, El Cid’s exile route, on the banks of the Duero River.
