Capegate turned Black Friday green this year with an innovative and eco-friendly initiative. On Friday, 29 November 2024, the first 500 shoppers at Capegate received free shopping bags crafted from the centre’s repurposed promotional banners, showcasing a creative and impactful approach to reducing single-use plastics.
This thoughtful endeavour reflects Capegate’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. By transforming previously used event banners into durable, reusable shopping bags, the centre is not only giving back to its loyal patrons but also contributing to reducing waste in landfills.
“Our goal was to find a meaningful way to celebrate Black Friday while staying true to our environmental values,” says Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager at Capegate. “These bags are more than just a giveaway — they’re a statement about the power of small actions to create significant change.
