The City of <a title="Cape Town” href=”http://myza.co.za/cgi-bin/search.cgi?keywords=Cape+Town”>Cape Town will host a conference and exhibition to celebrate World Town Planning Day from 10 to 11 November at the <a title="Cape Town” href=”http://myza.co.za/cgi-bin/search.cgi?keywords=Cape+Town”>Cape Town Civic Centre. The exhibition will run from 9 to 11 November.
The conference theme is Liveable Cities: Urbanising World. Meeting the Challenge, and will feature, for example, the application processes followed to implement development projects, and an exploration of the appropriate responses and solutions that planners can build into their recommendations for urban areas at different scales and in different circumstances. International best practices on how urban liveability is conceived, implemented and measured will also be discussed, with a special focus on urban design, environmental assessments, green technologies and marketing.
The 2011 conference is one of the ways in which the City works to create a better world for future generations. It builds on the initiatives started in the 2007 and 2009 conferences and as such demonstrates the power of collaboration. It provides the ideal platform for delegates to network with industry professionals and government officials, listen to international speakers and participate in planning discussions.
