Crackdown on Cape Gangs

9 September 2026 by Con Tributor

WESTERN CAPE – Various SAPS units in the Western Cape were deployed on an intelligence driven tracing operation alongside members of Operation Prosper this morning, 09 September 2026. The operation targeted gangs in Valhala Park and Belhar, following recent violent tensions in both areas. The operation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male suspect, who was wanted in connection with an attempted murder case. He was arrested for attempted murder and will appear before the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court.

Furthermore, the team recovered two .38 Special revolvers without serial numbers and ten rounds of ammunition in Eight Avenue Valhala Park and Galileo Street, Belhar. Both firearms were booked in as exhibits in their respective police stations for further investigation.
