Critical Electricity Maintenance in Bridgetown

4 November 2026 by Con Tributor

The City advises residents in parts of Bridgetown of an upcoming critical electricity supply interruption for maintenance, which will be carried out from 08:00 until 12:00 on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. The duration of the outage is an estimate. Restoration could be delayed due to the complex nature of the work. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the emergency and essential maintenance is being carried out.

The maintenance is essential to enhance the quality and reliability of electricity supply in Bridgetown.

The work is planned to be carried out from 08:00 until 12:00 on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, if all goes to plan.

It is important to note that this is critical emergency electricity maintenance and repair work. In accordance with the National Rationalised Specifications (NRS) 047 2025: Electricity Supply – Quality of Service and Reporting Guidelines for planned electricity interruptions, residents must be notified of planned work at least 48 hours in advance to ensure residents are adequately informed.

The outage may impact parts of the following streets, among others (due to the nature of electrical work, not all areas mentioned may be impacted):

  • Petunia Road
  • Primrose Street
  • Linaria Crescent
  • Olympic Crescent
  • Anthony Road
  • Delphium Street
  • Lower Klipfontein Road
  • Misiltoe Street

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time, and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
