The DA Student Organisation (DASO) at the University of Stellenbosch is deeply shocked by the recent allegations of rape on the campus.
DASO condemns any form of gender-based violence and we are equally disturbed by similar allegation of GBV that are cropping up at other campuses. Campus authorities should address these issues very urgently and ensure that all students are safe.
Furthermore, we are calling on the South African Police Service to swiftly deal with the matter at the University of Stellenbosch and to bring justice to the alleged victim.
