WESTERN CAPE – Members of Operation Prosper and Samora Machel detectives conducted a tracing operation in Delft area on Wednesday, 02 September 2026, where they searched for a suspect wanted in an attempted murder case which occurred in Samora Machel.
The members searched a premises in Hurricane Street, Delft, where they found the suspect. A further search of the premises led to the discovery of a .38 Special revolver with ammunition hidden in the house. The 23-year-old suspect faces charges for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In an unrelated matter, members of Operation Proper, arrested three suspects aged 53, 25, 24 in Saint Elias Avenue, Valhalla Park, when they were found stripping a stolen vehicle. The members followed up information about a vehicle being stripped and found the suspects at the mentioned address. The face charges for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Furthermore, members of Operation Prosper deployed in Khayelitsha, searched a premises in Enkanini informal settlement, and arrested a 26-year-old male when they found 100 small packets containing dagga, 50 dagga cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash in the informal dwelling. He faces a charge for dealing in dagga.
Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Bellville, Bishop Lavis and Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Courts.
