The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department will install the last connection in the new pressure management systems on the water supply lines situated at the intersection of Dennis Road and Prince George Drive in Lavender Hill on Wednesday, 8 December (night).
This will result in the disruption of the water supply to residents in these areas from 21:00 on 7 December until 04:00 on 8 December 2011.
Residents will be impacted in the following areas:
- Retreat: The area east of Prince George Drive which includes Lavender Hill, Seawinds, Hillview, St Montague Village may be without water during this period.
- Muizenberg/Marina da Gama: East of the Main Road, Marina Da Gama south of Battleridge Road and new developments in the vicinity of Sunrise Circle and Baden Powell Drive may be without water during this period.
Residents are kindly requested to store sufficient water in clean, sealed containers for domestic consumption to minimize the inconvenience.
A water tanker will be located close to McDonald’s at the entrance to Capricorn Park should residents require any water for domestic consumption.
Residents must also ensure that their taps are closed whilst the work is in progress to eliminate the possibility of water loss or damage being incurred when the water supply and pressure is restored.
The City apologises for any inconvenience caused. It is imperative that we maintain our water supply infrastructure to ensure the continued supply of quality drinking water to our citizens.
