WESTERN CAPE – Members of Operation Prosper followed up information about firearms at a premises in Present Street, Wesbank, on Tuesday afternoon, 09 June 2026. During the search of the premises the members found a 9mm pistol with ammunition hidden in the house. Two suspects aged 21 and 23 were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In an unrelated intervention, members of Operation Lockdown III conducted a search of a premises in Tiara Way, Leonsdale, Elsies River, when they noticed a male running into the house when he saw the police vehicles. During the search of the premises the members found a consignment of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house.
A 41 year old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga.
Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in Blue Downs and Goodwood Magistrates’ Courts.
