Electoral Court Finds Brett Herron Guilty

27 August 2026 by Con Tributor

Statement by Shaun August – DA Member:

The Electoral Court has found Brett Herron, Secretary General of the GOOD Party, to have breached the Party Political Funding Act that regulates how political parties receive donations.

The Court has issued a sanction against Herron and the GOOD party to pay R90,000 in combined fines, for this breach.

Hiding political funding is a serious offence in South Africa.

After my chapter at the failing GOOD party, and returning to the growing Democratic Alliance, I became very suspicious of the misleading of the IEC which came to light under Brett Herron’s hand and Patricia de Lille’s leadership at the GOOD party, and I opened the complaint with the IEC.

This led to the IEC taking the matter to the Electoral Court where Brett Herron and the GOOD party have been exposed, as having cheated the system.

There is no credibility left in that party, and now the Electoral Court has finally ruled that it is actively falling foul of the law.

In the upcoming election voters have the final say, and the power to ditch a party that ignores the law, and instead turn to a party of delivery, that plays by the rules, and gets municipalities working. The DA is the one party that can say this with certainty.
