Terror Fanteni is back and he continued where he left-off before the Christmas break by banning in the goals for Ajax Cape Town.
In fact, Terror is now the all-time leading goal scorer for the Urban Warriors having scored his 49th goal in the colours of Ajax Cape Town and one more goal will see him reach his goal number 50.
Terror spoke to ajaxct.com about his recent return to form.
ajaxct.com: – The coach has publicly explained you absence from the starting line-up was due to excess weight picked over Christmas tell us more?
Terror – Hi there, I understood the situation. I am a professional and know where the coach was coming from. This is my job.
ajaxct.com – How did it feel being told to train with the team again?
TF – It felt good, I worked hard at regaining my fitness and on my weight, now I want to work hard at doing what I am good at ….scoring goals. The lay-off cost me game time, now I need to get as much game time as possible.
ajaxct.com – Do you think that you have done enough to convince the coach to be in the first eleven?
TF – It’s going to be tough because all the players are fighting for a space in the starting line-up for every game but I know what I am capable of and convincing the coach that I am can do the job.
ajaxct.com – Do you have a preferred strike partner?
TF – No I do not, it’s up to the coach to decide as to who plays. I have no problem with whomever is selected to play alongside me all I concentrate on is working for the team and scoring goals.
ajaxct.com – Do set yourself targets before the start of every season?
TF – No I do not, sometimes you can score more than once in a game or score in alternate games, I take my goals as they present themselves and concentrate on putting them in the back of the net, obviously I would like to score in every game.
ajaxct.com – Would you like to get back into the Bafana set-up?
TF – I was there and know the system, yes I would. It’s every South African players dream to play for the national team and hopefully I get another chance one day, but first I must do well at club level.
