The actions of president Jacob Zuma is a threat to the country’s economy, and the ANC should intervene and get rid of him to rescue the country from economic ruin, Dr. Pieter Groenewald, FF Plus chairperson, said.
Dr. Groenewald said in a member statement in parliament that everybody wants it to go well economically with a country, because if that happens, it goes well with everyone in the country.
He said that there is some institutions and factors which play a role in determining if a country creates wealth or not. One of these factors is the credit ratings which are given for a country and its government.
“Standard & Poor’s (S&P) clearly stated that one of the main factors which will determine whether SA is downgraded to junk status is the management of its state institutions. The president has now appointed a coordinating council which he will give him control over these institutions.
“Futuregrowth reacted to this and said they would no longer be extending credit to state institutions such as Eskom, Transnet, Sanral, the Land Bank or even the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa.
“A Danish bank, Jyske Bank, has now also stated that it would no longer be providing Eskom with credit. If South Africa and the government are serious about economic prosperity, the FF Plus is asking that decisive action is taken now.
“Only the ANC can get rid of pres. Zuma. Intervene now and get rid of him so that we may gain economic prosperity once again,” Dr. Groenewald said.
