Gugulethu Residents Basket of Services

17 July 2026 by Con Tributor

Next week Wednesday, 22 July 2026, the various City of Cape Town departments will be stationed at the Gugulethu Civic Hall in NY50 as part of its Basket of Services offering that enables residents to conveniently access essential municipal services. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to address account-related enquiries and access a range of City services closer to home.

The details are as follows: Wednesday, 22 July 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 at Gugulethu Civic Hall, NY50, Gugulethu

The City’s Customer Relations Department’s mobile team will assist residents with logging queries and service requests electronically.

The Basket of Services offering in Gugulethu will see several City departments present their services and will assist residents with enquiries or concerns around:

  • Human Resources for enquiries about bursaries, internships, and apprenticeships
  • Community, Arts and Culture Development to find out how you can get involved
  • Business Hub and Jobs Connect
  • Customer Relations
  • Energy for meter related issues, billing issues and account concerns
  • Health to find out more about primary health care services
  • Safety and Security for information about traffic and law enforcement services
  • EPWP and jobseekers to give unemployed youth an opportunity to register on the jobseekers’ database to make them eligible for job opportunities that become available in their local communities.

‘We know that travelling to municipal offices can be costly and time-consuming, which is why we are bringing City services directly to Gugulethu. The Basket of Services is about making it easier for residents to access the help they need, whether it is resolving billing queries, updating account information, exploring job opportunities through our Jobseekers Database or EPWP, or speaking directly to City officials about municipal services. Residents can get assistance right there in their own community next week Wednesday. We encourage everyone to make use of this opportunity by bringing along their ID or municipal account so our teams can assist them as quickly and efficiently as possible,’ said Alderman Theresa Uys, Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services.
