“Let Nature Give You A Run For Your Money”

Two formidable trail runners from the Helderberg Trail Run Crew #HTRCrew, Lovemo Nyaude (Strand) and Zibele Bala (Khayelitsha) will be gunning for gold in the 42km and 24km THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 1-Day XPERIENCE respectively at the picturesque Paul Cluver Wine Estate (Grabouw) on Saturday 17 September 2022.

In March this year Nyaude kept the flag flying high for the #HTRCrew when he and running partner Hakeem Smith secured an overall 2nd place position at the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 3-Day STAGE RACE. This time round Nyaude has set his sights on the top spot of the podium in the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 1-Day XPERIENCE 42km race. “I entered the event because I love to spend time with the trail running community. I enjoy the challenge of the THIRST AFRICANX TRAILRUN, and I enjoy having fun on the trails. My goal is to win because I would like to motivate youngsters in my community to take part in the sport and I want to be an example to them.”

“You definitely don’t want to miss the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 1-Day XPERIENCE,” says Bala. “You are guaranteed to have fun from start to finish. I am looking forward to sharing the trails with other trail runners and just having fun on the day. My goal is to finish top 5 in the 24km, but a podium finish would be a bonus. The routes are awesome, the views of the mountains are amazing, and the people are wonderful. Trail runners that have not yet entered the event still have time to do so. It really is an experience!”
