WESTERN CAPE – The Hawks’ Crimes Against the State (CATS) in collaboration with the National Intervention Unit (NIU) and Manenberg SAPS members re- arrested Ignatius Logan Beukes (62) on 17 August 2026 after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
During October 2025, the team executed a search and seizure warrant at his residence in Manenberg, where they recovered an AK-47 Assault Rifle, without any serial number and one (1) magazine.
Beukes made an appearance in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail to the amount of R500-00.
The accused had since failed to present himself in court on 09 June 2026 which resulted in the warrant of arrest being issued.
He is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court today, 17 August 2026.
