iStore Fail

6 July 2010 by Con Tributor

I went to the iStore in the V&A to get my iMac fixed and the tech guy took my computer to assess what was wrong and give me a quote. A week later, after calling for him several times, he finally got back to me. The quote I received was for R4200. I called up a few places and quickly discovered that their quotes – for the same problem – were all about R2000 less that the iStore’s quote (!).

Needless to say, I took my computer to someone else and when he opened it, it took him no less than 20 seconds to work out what the real problem was and instead of R4200, it ended up costing me R700 and it was fixed right then and there.

So yes, I too, can do without the V&A iStore and it’s BS.

Regards

Amy Nelson
