Jon Savage Joins CapeTalk’s The Business of Entertainment with Martin Myers — Exploring the Big Question: Is It Too Late to Start Podcasting?

Thursday, 20 November | CapeTalk Radio ,9pm

Cape Town, South Africa — CapeTalk is set to welcome one of Africa’s foremost voices in the creator economy and podcasting innovation.

On Thursday, 20 November, at 9pm  The Business of Entertainment with Martin Myers will host Jon Savage, a trailblazing media entrepreneur whose work is reshaping how creators build, scale, and own their futures.

Savage — founder of the Africa Podcast Network, the continent’s largest podcast network with 41% market share — has become a central figure in the growth of digital audio across Africa.

He is also the co-creator of Podium, a groundbreaking global platform empowering creators to monetize and scale across podcasting, YouTube, TikTok, gaming, and more.

Through ventures like AMPD Studios, Africa’s largest creator empowerment hub, and Podium AdConnect, an AI-powered monetization engine, Savage has supported over 15,000 creators and forged partnerships with major platforms including Spotify, SiriusXM, Amazon, and YouTube.

In this special broadcast, Savage and Myers will unpack one of the industry’s most frequently debated questions:

Is it too late to start a podcast?

Savage brings a uniquely authoritative perspective — not only as a pioneering network founder, but also as a global speaker at events such as Podcast Movement (US), The Podcast Show (London), TEDx, Music Exchange, and Comic Con.

His work has been recognized at SXSW, WARC, the Loeries, and the SAMAs, and his diverse career spans directing the feature film Stone Cold Jane Austen, leading content strategy at Have You Heard, and serving as CEO of InBroadcasting.

Myers and Savage will dive deep into:

  • The state of podcasting in Africa and worldwide

  • Whether the market is saturated — or still full of opportunity

  • How creators can build sustainable careers in today’s multi-platform ecosystem

  • The rise of new creator economies and the infrastructure shaping them

  • What platforms, brands, and investors should understand about the next wave of media innovation

As the global podcasting landscape rapidly evolves, this conversation promises essential insight for creators, brands, media professionals, and anyone curious about where the future of entertainment is heading.

Tune in to CapeTalk on Thursday, 20 November, at 9pm  for a powerful discussion you won’t want to miss.
