The SA Police Services were on the scene where eyewitnesses had reported noticing a man appearing to be lifeless floating in the water.

WC Government Health EMS were activated.

The NSRI Lamberts Bay rescue craft JetRib was launched and on arrival on the scene a man was located in the water, lifeless in the surf zone, close to the rocky shoreline.

An NSRI rescue swimmer was deployed into the water from the rescue craft and the adult man, wearing only boxer shorts, was recovered onto the NSRI rescue craft where CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) efforts commenced.

The man was brought into Lamberts Bay Harbour onboard the NSRI rescue craft where CPR efforts continued and were joined by EMS paramedics and Police.
