Earlier this year, Shadow Careers chose Mitchells Plain as the location to launch their new career creation centre, giving many of our young people in Mitchells Plain and surrounding areas, such as Khayelitsha, an opportunity to upskill themselves and launch their careers close to home.
Tomorrow, 7 October 2022, DA Member of the Western Cape Parliament, Ricardo Mackenzie, and councillors from the City of Cape Town, will attend the graduation ceremony of a further 20 Shadow Career students, who will soon be permanently employed at one of their international call centre partners.
The 20 additional graduates bring the total permanent appointments to over 300.
We believe that the partnerships between Shadow Careers and its call centre partners, and what they are setting out to achieve, aligns with the DA-run Western Cape Government’s priorities to create job opportunities for all. We also believe that this will serve as a catalyst to encourage other corporates to invest in communities such as Mitchells Plain and bring much-needed change.
