Dear Cape Town
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape strongly condemns the murder of two City of Cape Town Law Enforcement Officers in Sweet Homes Philippi this afternoon.
The officers were deployed to guard construction site workers in the area and came under attack by armed criminals. Both officers have sadly passed away.
I call on the South African Police Service (SAPS) to take swift action in order to bring these thugs to book.
My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with families of the officers. I call on all communities across the province to assist the various safety officers, from Neighbourhood Watch members to the police officers.
Let’s look out for each other and keep each other safe in our attempts to create a safer Western Cape for all.
