The National Arts Festival will be hosting a series of workshops in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban to assist artists and companies with their proposals to be considered for the 2013 Main Festival programme.
The dates and times for the ninety minute workshops are as follows:
- Johannesburg: Friday 27 July at 3 pm at the Market Theatre
- Cape Town: Friday 3 August at 3 pm at the Fugard Theatre
- Durban: Friday 10 August at 3pm at the Playhouse Theatre
The workshops will cover aspects such as general guidelines for the Main programme proposals, budgets, and a discussion of the programme strategy that the committee and the Festival Director use when reviewing applications. There will be time allocated for question and answer sessions as well. The workshops are free, and all interested parties can RSVP for the respective workshops by emailing gilly@thefamousidea.co.za.
The National Arts Festival will be held in Grahamstown from 27 June to 7 July 2013. A comprehensive Call for Proposals document is available on the Festival’s website:www.nationalartsfestival.co.za. All applications received by registered mail will be acknowledged. The Festival does not take responsibility for non-registered mail which does not reach the Festival’s office. All proposals must reach the office of the Festival Director no later than Friday 18 August 2012.
