NSRI exercise with SA Navy and SA Air Force

Images and Video from the Sunday 1 March 2015 when NSRI Bakoven, NSRI Table Bay and NSRI Air Sea Rescue units exercised with Navy Submarine and 22 Helicopter Squadron off Sea Point.

Bruce Davidson, NSRI Bakoven station commander said, “NSRI Bakoven’s sea rescue craft Rotarian Schipper, NSRI’s Table Bay’s sea rescue craft Spirit of Vodacom and the NSRI Air Sea Rescue Unit  participated in a routine exercise with the SA Navy submarine SAS Queen Modjadji II and a SAAF Lynx helicopter off Sea Point this morning. The exercise involved close quarter manoeuvring, the transferring of a mannequin from the submarine to NSRI Bakoven’s sea rescue craft Rotarian Schipper and then to NSRI Table Bay’s sea rescue craft Spirit of Vodacom as well as the deployment of rescue swimmers between the SAAF Lynx helicopter and the Table Bay sea rescue craft.”
