For a mind, body and soul-satisfying experience, visit the Obs Holistic Lifestyle Fair & Green Market at the Observatory Recreation Centre on Sunday 2 October, 10am to 4pm.
Not just your average weekend market, the Fair’s 130+ holistic, alternative, organic and eco-friendly exhibitors have been showcasing and promoting more conscious, wholesome and just plain juicy ways of living since 1997. Sample some of the best health, wellness, organic, eco-friendly and artisanal products and services available in the country.
Some Highlights:
- Live Music: Talented Cape Town folk musician Nadia Kruger AKA Nuka will be performing between 12h00 and 13h30
- Free Film: ‘The Secret’ (2006, 91 minutes) The original classic offering inspirational insights on how to manifest a more abundant, fulfilled and happier life. (Repeat showings: 11h00-12h30 and 13h00-14h30) Even if you’ve seen this groundbreaking film before, there is always more to learn. Everyone who attends a showing of ‘The Secret’ on Sunday 2 October will receive a free copy of ‘Beyond The Secret’ worth R30 by spiritual teacher John Homewood. ‘Beyond The Secret’ is a powerful booklet written by John Homewood which gives greater context and insight into the law of attraction as well as the shift on consciousness that we are going through at this moment as well as tools for transformation
- Donation Drive: The next selected charity in our monthly ‘Count Your Blessings’ goodwill initiative is the ‘Help The Rural Child’ organisation. Visitors can bring clothing, books, bric-a-brac and toys to donate to this good cause that builds and maintains rural youth centres, and get in to the Fair for half-price. The ‘Count Your Blessings’ project aims to inspire and spread goodwill by giving visitors the opportunity to cultivate an attitude of gratitude through giving to those less fortunate than themselves. The Help The Rural Child organisation needs the following: clothing, books, bric-a-brac and toys for sale at the organisation’s various charity shops.
- Holistikids Family Section: including DreamWeaver organic jungle gyms in two play areas, jumping castle, cupcake decorating, sand art, face painter, balloons, activity area etc.
- Relax: Check out the Chillout Zone & games section next to the Soul Food area: chess, back gammon, checkers & tic-tac-toe, plus the weekend papers available to read.
For animal lovers, there will be dogs for adoption and products for sale from LEAPS. A doggy oasis is also available inside the main Fair area for tired pooches (well-behaved dogs welcome at the Fair!)
Visitors can claim their free recycled plastic shopping packets at the gate.
Entry: R10 adults; R5 teens, students & pensioners; U12s free; donate items at the gate for the charity drive and get in for half-price.
