Dear Ms La Grange
As a matter of courtesy, I wanted to advise that the Table View Rate Payers Association will be investigating and preparing a motion for submission at the next ward committee 23 meeting that is to be held in January 2016, in terms of facilitating the movement of the DESIGNATED FIREWORKS BEACH STATUS from Dolphin beach to that of MELKBOSSTRAND.
Melkbosstrand Beach is a blue flag beach, it has a superb grass area that can safely accommodate those visitors, ample parking, no petrol station within 500 meters and or residential dwellings with 100m in terms of the municipal bylaws, that are over looked each time fireworks are held on Dolphin Beach. I do not know why this was not suggested and or considered previously as this is far better venue than Table View venue, where a distinct shortage of parking facilities, residential dwellings within 40 meters and a petrol station within 260 meters of Cllr Groses office.
It was clear to all at last night’s ward committee meeting, that this contentious issue does enjoy the support of the greater Melkbosstrand Community and I do think that moving such will remove a huge contentious issue from within this area. I will be arranging for a site inspection later this week and we will utilise that opportunity to measure distances in terms of suitability ito the municipal bylaws in terms of reference to this investigation.
Would you or any of your exco members welcome the opportunity to join us as I do hope that this issue will become the first of many that our rate payers associations will concur on.
Thanking you
Leon Alhadeff
Chairman: TABLE VIEW RATE PAYERS ASSOCIATION
