Our Children Are Our Heritage at Blue Route Mall

2 September 2025 by Con Tributor

Tokai, Cape Town— Blue Route Mall is turning giving into a celebration this Heritage Month with a community-wide collection in support of local children. From 1 to 30 September, shoppers are invited to donate at Blue Route Mall and help ensure that joy, dignity, and opportunity are part of the legacy we pass on.

Living the Upside means moving beyond words to action. If happiness is to become our shared heritage, we must be clear about who we’re building it for. Our children are our heritage. They’ll inherit the world we create—so let’s make sure they inherit the upside, not just hear about it.

This year’s drive places a special spotlight on pre-loved toys for the Tokai Lions Children’s Christmas Party, where every toy will bring big smiles to little faces. In addition, child-friendly essentials are welcome throughout the month.

How to donate

  • When: 1–30 September 2025
  • What: Gently used or new toys (focus item), plus age-appropriate children’s books and other child-friendly essentials in good condition
  • Where: Clearly marked donation points at Blue Route Mall (see in-centre signage or the Information Desk for details)

The campaign’s core objective is simple: a message of hope that resonates on every level—and then goes further. By rallying our community to give, we aim to do more, build more, and be more for the children who will define tomorrow.

Heritage is not only what we celebrate—it’s what we pass on. This September, we’re asking every visitor to take part, because countless small acts of kindness add up to lasting change.

Spread the word with #OurChildren #OurHeritage #LivingTheUpside.
