‘Poo Protester’ Sentencing to Continue

16 April 2015 by Alan

Cape Town – Nine “poo protesters” were expected to return to the Bellville Regional Court on Thursday for the continuation of their sentencing procedures.

The nine are to be sentenced for violating the Civil Aviation Act after emptying containers containing human waste in the Cape Town International Airport’s departure hall on June 25, 2013.

According to the charge sheet, they lived in Cape Town’s townships and a dispute arose over the state of sanitation in their areas.

They were found guilty in February and are are out on R2000 bail each.
